Giving back to the community

I'm not sure why, but fall is always a time I start thinking more often about giving back to others.  Obviously it's something we should think of and do throughout the year, but the cooler temperatures, breezy days and fall decorations get my mind moving in the direction of giving to others.

I have often heard that when things are bad for you, the cure is to do something for someone else.  I completely believe in this.

In today's busy culture, too often we don't do for ourselves, much less do anything for anyone else.  When is the last time you gave something (even time) to someone without expecting something in return?

Many celebrities give to others in a very grand way.  Look at Oprah, Ellen and many of the other big names.  It's easy to allow yourself to believe that if you can't give big like that, why should you give at all.  I believe giving of yourself, whether it be time, money, a baked item, a smile or a kind word can do wonders for the giver and the receiver.

There are so many ways to give.  I would love to hear what you do to give back to others.

Keep me posted.

Things to consider when looking for wedding day transportation

Have you considered what your transportation needs are for your wedding day?

Who are you transporting?

Do your future in-laws need a car?

How is your bridal party getting to and from the venue?

Do you have a large number of out of town guests staying at a hotel and will they need transportation?

Just a few things to consider.

What type and size of vehicle do you need?

There are many different types of vehicles available to meet your specific needs.  Sedans are more popular than ever for brides and grooms.  Transporting your wedding party, consider one of the 5 door limousines for easy in and easy out.  Need something for a larger group of people but not large enough for a bus.  Consider a Terra Van.  Buses range in size and can accommodate any size group.

What is included in your quote?

Ask what is included in your quote?  Make sure you know if a standard gratuity is included, are there any fuel fees or additional taxes or fees not included?  Make sure you get a written contract, look it over very carefully, paying attention to times, dates and number passengers.  This is your opportunity to work with your transportation company paving a way for a smooth wedding day.

How long have they been is business?

How long has the company been is business?  Do they have a BBB rating?  What is their refund of deposit policy?  What is their driver turnover rate?  What type of maintenance program do they follow for all of their vehicles?  All of these are things to think of when deciding on what company will be providing transportation for your wedding day.

I have been in business for over 12 years in the greater Austin area and I have seen each of the above mentioned items be an issue at some point for someone.  The last thing you want to worry about on your wedding day is your transportation.  Taking your time and interviewing the companies you are considering doing business with is well worth the extra time it will take.

Please feel free to send me an email or give me a call if you have any questions.

October Fest is just around the corner

October is just around the corner and that brings thoughts of Walburg, Polka Bands, cooler weather and good old German Beer.  If you have never been to Walburg, October is probably the best time of year to go.   Walburg is just north of Georgetown east of IH 35.
